For Love or Nothing

By William Oak

Review

For Love or Nothing is a new book with a fresh perspective on genuine love. The 25 enchanting stories in this delightful collection relay valuable lessons for loving relationships. Similar to stories in the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series, the 25 enchanting tales in For Love or Nothing are both entertaining and inspirational. Ingenious allegories by freelance author William Oak and famous folktales from around the world will not only thoroughly entertain you, but will also show you how to get the most out of love.

The author, William Oak, writes,"The idea of finding true love has been instilled within us from childhood storybooks to headlines that scream about wedded bliss. After a heartbreak or two, disillusionment sets in and we are thrown back to earth as we ask ourselves the perplexing question: How do we really find genuine love that lasts?

One of the key messages of my book is that 'Love works only as long as we do.' I believe in order to find lasting love we must learn to fight complacency. We must go beyond the simple acknowledgement that love makes us feel good and take concrete steps to utilize our full capacity to love. For loving someone is a learned ability. It is a consciously developed skill that requires a great deal of continual hard effort.

I have saying about love which many people have said is one of their favorite quotes in the book: 'We must sow love to reap love, but only by daily cultivation will the harvest be abundant.'

Much of the inspiration for this book came from my mother who was a mentor to me after she was stricken with terminal cancer. Among other things, I learned from her that the significance of one's life is measured by the deepness of one's love for others. Without love, she taught me, we are nothing.

The comments that really mean a lot to me come from readers who said the stories touched their hearts, or made them cry, or brought them to finally realize that finding genuine love is of supreme importance in life. Their words confirm that this book has potential to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of those who read it, which is my only true aspiration."
