Re: Pray for Me Please

UL

I should think this is one of the worst situations.

UL, you know that I wasn't trying to point my finger at anyone. It's not certainly what you did or you didn't. It's more to do with STBX and he obviously fell for someone else when you were busy looking after your Dad.

I've seen friends husbands leaving for a number of reasons. One (wife) had cancer and husband couldn't deal with it and left her for someone else. Another h left his wife because he simply fell in love with someone else. These things do happen to the nicest people. It's dreadful when it happens. Over the years, I realize more and more that marriage does not come with a guarantee.

True maybe but the odds are greatly increased where there is commitment and love. Something which he didn't have it seems.

Re: Pray for Me Please

No Roses, I didn't think you were pointing the finger. I just meant if he was justifying doing this to himself for that reason I won't give him a pass.

As far as I can see, he saw someone else he fell I "lust" with and anything else is just an excuse on his part. I begged him for help to get counseling for me to support me with my caregiving, sent him articles to read about caregivers and their difficulties and stress levels but he just brushed it off.
The last article I read him was about how caregivers support systems walk away right when they need them most. It said it all better than I could. I was crying as I read it to him and he just ignored me and then left a couple of months later.

Hi UL

I feel for you in this terrible dire straits. Otherwise, I wouldn't have posted in your thread. I have been through something similar e.g. caregiver & stress, so I know where you are coming from. Sorry for delays in replying as I was away from home for a few days.

Hope your therapy is going well for you.
