Nina Simone I got Life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rw5mP...eature=related
Forgot "DIgnity" was too busy avoiding "Chocolate Girl" to go down the Deacon Blue route. Ahven't heard Dr. Hook in years!!!!
That drummer was a bit hairy for my tastes, you can have hime JWD! But why were Zippy and George playing with something very rude looking? But then Rainbow was always a bit suspect when you grew up and analized it!

Re: Music to mend a broken heart....

One more song to think about- was listening to it at the gym and the words seemed appropriate to what we are all trying to acheive- the Pet Shop Boys, Somewhere:

There's a place for us
somewhere a place for us
Peace and quiet and open air
wait for us somewhere

There's a time for us
some day a time for us
Time together with time to spare
time to learn, time to care
some day, somewhere

We'll find a new way of living
We'll find a way of forgiving
somewhere

There's a place for us
a time and place for us
Hold my hand and we're halfway there
Hold my hand and I'll take you there
somehow, some day
somewhere

There's a place for us
a time and a place for us
Peace and quiet and open air
Hold my hand and I'll take you there
somehow, some day
somewhere

The "Us" refers to all of us here, rather than a couple!!!

Especially the lines about finding a new way of living and a way of forgiving. I'm getting all soppy now- better have some chocolate quick smart!!!

Re: Music to mend a broken heart....

Good one JWD! Though the Queen song that most sums me at the moment is probably I'm going slightly Mad:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNBWf...eature=related
Not normally, just driving myself round the twist analysing everything!
However, that is not positive, so no more Going SLightly Mad, and instead I will BREAK FREE!!!

Re: Music to mend a broken heart....

Excellent. Even though the Annie Lennox CD is H's. One of his few good choices. I had to hide his James Blunt CD in the end- what's wrong with him? Another false pretence- I would think very carefully about marrying a man who likes James Blunt if I had my time over- though in fairness there was no James Blunt when we got married. And he says I have rubbish taste in music!!!!
