Re: My husband's internet activity is gay, transexual, tranvestite sites

Hiya. I can well understand this has come as a huge shock to you. Please don't think it has anything to do with who you are or what you do or don't do. There is no connection. There is an...

Re: Back to the porn problem

Sounds like steps in the right direction. The software you want is called "Covenant Eyes" I think. It blocks sites with undesired content, and I think it can be set to tell an accountability partner...

Re: Bankruptcy and Seperation

That makes sense. And the bankruptcy stuff is all over with in about 2 years isn't it? I would get a formal legal separation first though. Assuming staying married is really not an option.

Re: Bankruptcy and Seperation

What about an IVA rather than bankruptcy? You do pay more back, but the long term implications are far less.

Edit : If you do it at the same time as separation, then you will need to have a formal...

Re: My wife's girl-friends

I agree with Raymond about the personality types. H and I are also opposites on Myers-Briggs. Makes communication a challenge at times, but it is possible to learn new ways of communicating and also...

Re: My wife's girl-friends

Its usually a combination of things Raymond. Each of our circumstances are unique, just as each of us is unique. So different people respond differently to the same circumstances. For women, you...

Re: My wife's girl-friends

There is no evidence of nature over nurture. he problem is, it is usually related to issues that occurred very young, often the person has no memory of them. The broken sexuality then becomes a very...

Re: My wife's girl-friends

Spot on Raymond.
I too have struggled with emotionally dependant relationships with female friends. I was 40 before I realised how serious the problem was, when it nearly destroyed my marriage. ...

Re: Drifting apart...

Hmm. I'm getting a sense of deja vu here. There may not be anything sexual, but there is definitely an emotional dependence between your w and her friend. I was the wife in a situation much like...

Re: Wife just had affair so how do I cope

Hi Hurting

Raymond and sdm have both given good advice, to which I can't really add anything. Sounds like you need some reassurance :

Yes it can be better than before.

I am a wife who had...

Re: Children to learn about domestic abuse

I also back this. How can children deal with these issues unless they can recognise them? Those who oppose the decision, well, I do wonder why?

I agree with Raymond, Jenn. When we first married, we had some difficulty with my sister expecting to continue to have the same claims on my time and resources as she had previously. We had to sit...

Re: What is the right thing to do for my wife right now?

Hi Confused

Not read the book, but it seems to me that just agreeing to avoid confrontation isn't right. I think a better way is to acknowledge there is an issue and agree a time a couple of days...

I have to agree with much of what Aok says. Since when is standing up for the right thing, wanting to spend time with your family and sleep in your own bed being controlling? You are...

I suspected right from the beginning of your thread that what aok says may be true. Speaking as one who has been there. I had an affair with an older woman when my marriage ran into...

Re: I love you but I am not in love with you

Hi Printer

Yeah, it does sound like a MLC, which can be triggered by menopause in women which is why I raised that question. There are several good links on this forum concerning MLC, so it may be...

Re: I love you but I am not in love with you

One thing that immediately comes to mind from my own experience is - menopause. Agewise she is at the lower end but not unusually so. It makes us act pretty irrationally, as my H will testify.

Re: Just what IS love?

Well put, both of you! Or to put it another way, love is something you DO, an action. In the best sense it is a verb, not a noun.

I agree with Raymond. You are handling things about as perfectly as it is possible to do. The conditions you have set out for her to return are right, stick to them. My husband set out...
