Relationships without sex - research project

Hello everyone!

I hope it's ok to post this here. I don't mean to step on anyone's toes.

My name is Mercedes Pöll and I'm a researcher at the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.

I'm working on a project investigating the experiences of people in relationships without sex, whatever their reasons for it. It's intended to look at the absence of sex as something that is much more common than people tend to believe, and I hope that my project can help de-stigmatise people who don't have sex.

I'm looking for interview participants, specifically in the UK. If you think you may be interested, please let me know and I will provide you with more information.

The project has full ethical approval from the University of Leeds, and you'll be completely anonymous.

Thank you and all the best,
Mercedes.

Something that I have been interested in learning more about has been if people can maintain healthy relationships without involving sex. You may express emotions orally but nothing says it better than physical intimacy. Sexual relationship is one of the best ways to do it. a physical level of relationship is natural and necessary for a couple.

My husband and I dont have sex anymore. We were like rabbits when we first met and now its nothing. This had put a major damper on things for me and him. Im almost out the door. Who wants to be with a person who cant/wont connect with them physically?

What do you think has caused that? Does he watch porn?

If you are talking about marriage yes. Of course there are many other relationships that do not include sex and it would be very wrong if it did.

When did this start happening? I can't imagine being married to someone and not have sex regularly.

I suppose if both consent to it it might work so long as they are not going elsewhere. The norm is to have sex of course if you are a sexual creature and most of us are.
