I recently got talking to someone in a chat room. We hit it off and exchanged e-mail addresses. Our exchanges started off fairly harmlessly but then began to get more and more personal and intense. We shared our problems and feelings. Now we want to meet one another and see what develops.
I am married but very unhappily so. I don't think this person can solve all my problems but I would like to meet them. I don't know where to go from here...

It doesn't solve your problems to find someone new and certainly you shouldn't be looking to the new person to solve your problems - only you can do that. Starting a new relationship will only complicate matters. Remember too that you really know very little from an internet aquaintance. It's much easier to judge a person's character when you are communicating face to face, so you really don't know what you are letting yourself in for if you meet. But of course curiosity is difficult to resist.
My advice would be to try and get some help for your marriage. Even unhappy marriages can be turned round and are stronger when the difficulties have been worked through. There are lots of resources on the site to get the help you both need. Why not Start with the Relationship Basics area (http://www.2-in-2-1.co.uk/marriageclinic/relbasictopic/).
