Would this be a register of convicted spouses who physically abused their husbands/wife, or a register of people whose spouses CLAIM that they were abusive?
I only ask this because the word 'abuse' is used so casually these days, especially in the case of emotional abuse, which can means anything, and this detracts from the real abuse victims like yourself. You can have bitter ex spouses adding their husband/wife to this register just out of spite and this could cause untold damage. Maybe people need to believe others (not ex spouses but others)who tell them that they have beat a previous wife/husband.

I actually know a couple very well, where the wife claimed that he was emotionally abusive, solely so that she could divorce him without having to be seperated for 2 years first, as she had met another man. The reason that I know she was lying, is that I have been married to the man she divorced for several years, and he hasnt got an abusive bone in his body,and is the nicest, most patient and laid back man ever, it was all lies.We do need to be careful.
If you mean a person who has been actually convicted in a court of law, then there may be a case for that.

What a wise answer. It does need a lot of thought regarding a register. There is a register of convicted paedophiles which does serve a good purpose.

Marital abuse is much more complex. As you indicate it is just one word against another. There are usually no witnesses in these situations.

In this situation you were warned Lstevo , so there was a least a mental register in place.

i belive that there should be and should be made publicly viewable at like your town hall cause you hear about these girls and boys going on blind dates and well you know the rest this way people can be more alert
