Hi

Basically since my wife went to see solicitor she is now after half + more of assets as I have previously said.

Now, WE have a loan in my name @ £150 a month which she is now refusing to pay her half of, also, her car insurance comes out of my account (she is the owner of green car but I am the insurer with her on policy. I am owner of blue vehicle with her the insurer and me on her policy....dont ask)

I am thinking of cancelling the direct debit and switching my insurance so I am the insurer of my own vehicle, leaving her without insurance (she not paying this either)

Am i been a b*****d?

Should you be not sure......my mum looks after son 8.00am - 5.30am mon-fri. Wife/bitch suggested paying her£50 a month. She has never paid her a penny. I paid mum £250 to cover the expenses even though i pay CSA and now she has said she wont pay mum anything either.

What you all think?

Hi Nik,

Infortunately if the loan is in your name you, alone are liable, sods law.

I would definately switch your car insurance over and stop paying hers, but I would put it in writing to her (via email or letter) that you can no longer afford to pay it and this is your reason for cancelling it. (This covers your arse if she gets solicitor involved in it, so tell her first what your intentions are, then do it).

I would use the fact that your mother looks after your son and that you pay her expenses as part of your claim to custody/visitation rights. I think if you see a solicitor, they may tell you to up the amount (on paper only ;)) as this would be in your benefit with regards how much maintenance/equity you may have to pay her. In other words, on paper you must look like your outgoings are high, then she has less of a case on your money. She will be doing the same believe me, my H is!!

Cover your backside, if you have any savings make them disappear (urgent house/car repairs paid cash etc if you get my drift). She is after your money, make it look like you have none spare, play her at her own game.

Good Luck Nik, see the fighter coming out now which is good!! LoLa x

Hi Nik

In my opinion, cut all financial ties possible with your wife. She needs to stand on her own two feet. You can't do much about the loan if it's in your name.

You are not being a 'b', you've been too generous. You need to look after your own interests. Protect yourself.

Nik,

You need to stop paying for this if she is playing hardball.
My wife has just asked for 20% of my income which I don't have due to being lumbered with 50% of our joint debts as I said in a previous post.
She has the gall to ask me this yet knowing of my financial situation and while I try and take the kids on a cheapy caravan break next weekend she is jetting off to somewhere warm in the middle east for the weekend
I think the penny has dropped that what if she was out of work or got injured(being self employed) she would not be able to keep up her lifestyle
I am off to see a solicitor in a couple of weeks to get a response fired off but hopefully she will see some sense and things wont have to get awkward!

Be firm!

Jon
