Is It To Soon To Get Engaged

Well me and my girlfriend are 18 & 25 have been seeing each other for 1 month and we have just decided to get engaged, i just want to know if you think it is too soon...

To be totally honest, yes, I think it is, and the fact that you even need to ask this question, makes me think that you also realise this.

The stage that you are in is called the 'honeymoon' stage. All those little things that you love about her now will eventually become the things that you can't stand about her within the next couple of years. .

I believe only a small percentage of people who get engaged this early in a relationship last. I think that after about 2 years, well for me anyway, is when I was able to know the person well enough (good and bad stuff) to be able to decide if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with them.

maybe it's ok to get engaged at this point in time, but I would put off marriage for 2 years until you really get to know her.

Yes I think it is too soon. You should give it time, like say, at least a year. You have to get to know the person first. Remember that when people get married, it is with the intention that it would last forever.

Ice man I'd have to agree with the majority.. Its probably too soon. In fact I'm curious if your still together since you've posted that response in the forum?

If you are both truely in love, its never too soon.

I got engaged after 3 weeks and we were together 8 years

guess nothing lasts forever, but I've met my lady now so I'm really happy

and yes , we got engaged after 2 months,
