Happy Wife, Happy Life!?

Hi there everyone. This is just a bit of fun.

My sister has a motto:- Happy Wife, Happy Life. It works for her - she seems to be in charge in her marriage and home life - or maybe that's what her husband wants her to think!

In my own marriage I seem to be the supportive one, the B type, and my husband, the A, is definitely in charge. For us, this seems to work out, most of the time.

Which do you think is best? Does it depend on personalities, or old fashioned roles? And what happens when both partners want to be in charge?

And just to make it more controversial, and bring things right up to date - how would this work with those new-fangled same-sex marrriages?

Ive been married for 4 months and in my case I believe it depends on both. As a woman I believe in the old fashioned role, cooking and cleaning and looking after him, but I expect my husband to "pitch in". On the other hand personalities play a big part too. Its not a question of being in charge, but when we both dont give up, we clash.
