Hi all
Just back from 2 weeks holiday in St Ives , Cornwall . If anyone knows St Ives, they will know that it is a beautiful place and one that you would love to share with a loved one.
Well I just spent a grim 2 weeks with my partner. We had a fantastic apartment overlooking Porthmeor beach, the weather was perfect , all in all an ideal, romantic setting...............but for some reason it was awful.
He basically couldn't sleep the whole 2 weeks and I would wake at night to find him on the balcony staring out to sea or sitting in the chair drinking coffee. Consequently he was shattered the whole time and didn't really want to do much............. that would have been ok, but it wasn't much fun for me , I got to sit watching him nod off all day or go alone into the town and watch all the loved up couples walking hand in hand. Great !!!!
He reckons he couldn't sleep because of the change in times ( he's a twilight shift worker at home ) but because of the problems we have had recently I had a feeling he maybe just wanted to avoid being in the bed at the same time as me............... may have me just being sensitive, I don't know .
I've told him that if we are still together next year I'm not going away with him, don't see the point of travelling 7 hours by car if all he is going to do is sleep the days away, he can do that here for free.
Am I being too harsh ? It wasn't that I expected him to be up , dressed and raring to go at 7 am, we were on holiday after all , but having to wake him at 2 pm when half the day was over, only to have him bad tempered and tired the rest of the day, was too much !
Anyway, I'm back now and going to catch up on posts I missed, hope you've all been well.
Helen
