Me and my friend’s wedding dates where close together, mine before hers I am now married. As I had more money to spend on my wedding than she does I said she could use my dress and she could spend her money on other things for the wedding. She was over the moon but now she has started acting up. She is accusing me of ruining her wedding. I looked so fantastic in the dress I just can’t bring myself to let anyone else look so good. I’ve said she can have the dress but not the veil, satin gloves and there is a satin v shaped bodice that fits over the front of the dress and ties up at the back. I’ve said she can’t have that also. She can still use the dress the bodice just goes over the top to make it look nice. Also I’m not letting her have the satin shoes but I’ve said she can pick a pair of my other heels is she likes. She has over two months until he wedding all she is missing is the accessories and the bodice. If I let her use it all she would look as good as me and I couldn’t take that. She has the dress for free.

Well Sam, I happen to think your friend is right!!

It does seem very mean spirited to make a promise and then not keep it in full - and all to make you look better than your friend. Raeal friendship means wanting the best for the other person, so why not let her have the whole kit??

I certainly hope you're not going to treat the promises you made on your wedding day so lightly!

It's like promising someone a nice piece of your cake, but insisting they're not allowed to have the icing and the cheries on top!

You didn't look beautiful at your wedding because of your dress. You probably could have worn any old rag and still looked nice. It's not about the dress. It's about being a loving generous human being that makes you beautiful.
