Does anyone know if there is a chatroom or a way of us talking one to one on here ? I sometimes am amazed at the great advice some people give and often think it would be nice to talk to them "in real time " . It seems a little scarey to give out e-mail addresses or Screen names on an open board, just wondered if there was a way to do it in confidence ?

Hi Helen,

I did a similar thing for another member of the board by obtaining a disposable email address, such as yahoo or hotmail. I then posted it on the board, we made contact and swapped MSN details so we could chat in realtime. If you use that email address only for this purpose then you can just delete the account if it gets spammed or mis-used.

Same here,

G-Dub_from_2-in-2-1@hotmail.co.uk

But don't forget these forums provide you with multiple opinions and advice whereas 1 to 1 chats can be a little biased, especially as we are all going through some sort of emotional problems in our relationships.

Yes I do realise that G-Dub, and thanks for the address . I merely meant that sometimes it is easier to talk in depth one to one, I have no problem with anyone and everyone posting their personal views on here, but I do sometimes feel a little odd, posting my heart's content in public !

Hi Helen,

Yep know the feeling well, it seems weird that we can all open our hearts on here to complete strangers and yet struggle to confide in those closest to us. I guess it's because the problems we post about are normally related to those that are closest to us. I must admit I have found that after posting my soul on here in the past it has had such a positive effect. Not sure if it's just a release of pent up thoughts and feelings or knowing and anticipating a response is just around the corner be it favourable or not.

On or off the forum I'm happy to chat.

Every one here is in need of support in one way or another. We might be strangers but we all have a common bond in the fact that those closest and dearest to us have hurt us and we now have to come to terms with it or are trying to. Its hard but with time the pain will ease ( so I have been told). We will come out of this stronger and better people. After being put through the pain of betrayal there is no way I could subject anyone to that. So that must be positive thing that I can take on to my next relationship. Also not to be complacent and to comunicate with your partner, we all seem to "drift apart" one minute everything seems fine then "I love you but am not in love with you" is quoted at you. The excitement has gone, is it our fault? I do not know. Or do we think we are here for the long term and are partners expectations are different.
Please all out there take care and look after yourselfs cos your all worth it

Brian
