Hi everyone i'm new to this board and i'm getting over a divorce that was finalized about 3 months ago. I've been spending a lot of time on the computer and wondered if there were any Andrea Bocelli fans out there. I have been obsessed with his last album "Andrea" because it has helped me ease the pain of this messy divorce.

Hello everyone, aka my new best friends! I'm glad to hear that there are fans of Bocelli as well. For those who don't know who he is, he is an Italian opera singer. He lost his vision at an early age and learned how to play the piano, but really only sings tenor! I heard that if I play classical music to my unborn child it makes them smarter. Is this true! Shasta, check out www.andreabocelli and tell me what you think?

Awsome, I'm going to have to get his new cd.:)

About Classical Music I'd heard that kids who listen to it while taking math tests have better scores. In grade school I had a teacher that would play it during study hall (to aid in concentration) I don't know about while in the womb. I know they make those baby Einstine dvds that show bright colored objects while playing classical. I got one for my Goddaughter (she's 5 months) & she sits quietly for hours just watching. Psycologists say if you read to your baby in the womb and for the first years of it's life it will always love to read. Maybe the same is true w/ music.

I think it should have the same affect.

there is nothing like classical tenor, to ease the mind and clear your thoughts.

I play classical bocelli as well as other maestros all the time. I used to play soft classical to my son when he was a toddlet to help him sleep and it it worked every time. Hes 12 now and it still sends him to sleep!

I must say Im not a great love or todays music. I grew up in a theatircal family, many of my ancestors were in the Music Hall, a couple were actresses in Victoria times. A great Uncle was a Tenor, and sang on the radio.

I love music of the 30s to the 50''s.

I guess Ive an old fashioned head on young shoulders!!

I just wanted to say that I don't fit into any of these musical areas of today either. This is the first time I have ever entered into a chat room other than for school (I am currently working on my Master's degree). I am a little nervous about it. But, I love classical music, smooth jazz is absolutely great for me. I do like India Arie's first CD and of course Nora Jones' first CD. I didn't care for their second ones however. I have often picked up Andrea Bocelli's CD and wandered if I would like it and now I am going to go out and buy it. I love music, I spent many years singing with bands and in competitions and actually could have went to opra school but I was probably stupid and didn't do the right thing. Hey, I even sang with Brad Paisley when he was in high school, I was too and we had a few competitions that we were in together. I am not a big country music fan though.
Well, I was lonely I guess and I have been having marital troubles for awhile and I just needed some conversation. Take care all and I will try to check back with you later.
