My husband and I have been together for 5 years and have been married for 5 months. Since our marriage, our relationship has gone downhill and quick. My husband has had problems with depression in the past and has been on medication for about 2 years for this problem, but since our wedding his depression keeps getting worse. He has just quit putting any effort into our relationship or into his own life. He will go day's (3-4) without showering and will go 2 weeks without leaving our home. And because of the shower problem, of course our sex life has gone down hill drastically. He seems to have lost all motivation when it comes to his work, and we are suffering financially also. I have pled with him to please go to counselling but he refuses. I actually made an appointment for him but he refused to go. At this point I am so affraid of how this situation will affect our future and my mental state as I am already starting to feel very alone and very lost in my life. I'm affraid that he feels he made a mistake when he married me. Does anyone have and sugestions on how do help him and my marriage? Please help!?!

Hey there!

I am 35 years old and also suffered depression due to various military operations in South Africa.Your husband needs a change in scenery. You both need to move away from where you are. He needs a change in routine. I moved to another country and it has changed my whole outlook on life. I am not sure what your husband's cause for depression is, however, It can eventually lead to huge problems and end up in devorce. You can put yourself through this, you do not deserve it.

Hope all works out
