One of the most fascinating weddings we went to was the marriage of two of our best friends, one English, the other Norwegian. David was best man and, if I remember right, the vows were made in both languages. The first part of the wedding reception was a small dinner for close family and friends. some of the speeches of course were in English and some in Norwegian, with David's main role to translate. The main reception was a big party with dancing and all sorts of food including the traditional Kranzekake, a Norwegian wedding cake made of rings of almond cake and very tasty.
It's certainly a challenge arranging a wedding to involve family and friends speaking two different languages. Has anyone had a similar experience and how did they make it a special day?
