My wife and I have been married 9 years, mostly good until about one year ago. There seems to have been unresloved issues that have slowly built up. She is very good at expressing her feelings and I am the opposite so she gets frustrated when we try to communicate. She is full of anger and frustration and will not let it go. I try my best to make things work but only seem to make them worse. Please help.........., she is at the point of giving up, but I don't want to.

You must listen to her and talk to her!!!! She sounds as if she loves you very much as she would not get frustrated when talking to you. She probably feels like she is talking to a brick wall. You sound very much like my husband, where I am very open and can talk about my feelings where he does not. Try to listen to what she is saying, and dont be shy or feel uncomfortable when opening up your feelings, its not a crime, and dont get embarrased, its your wife of nine years you are talking to. Hope everything goes ok.

Hi there,

Your wife may not want you to solve her problems or have all the answers, but she does want to know that you have heard her and tried to understand and accept her feelings (http://www.2-in-2-1.co.uk/healthclub/relbasictopic/feelings/). You might like to read the article about this and the one about communication (http://www.2-in-2-1.co.uk/healthclub/relbasictopic/relbasics/).

Another thing you might like to consider is a Marriage Encounter weekend (http://www.2-in-2-1.co.uk/healthclub/servprov/marenhres/meang/). This is a very good way to open up your communication and strengthen your understanding of each other and they are available around the world.
