The Marriage Conference
A two day conference for church leaders and couples to train to run HTB's Marriage Preparation Course (day 1) and Marriage Course (day 2) is held from time to time. People are welcome to come to one day or both.
Today the institution of marriage is being undermined and marriages are under
ever-increasing pressure. How can we as Christians help to turn the tide? One way is to run courses that support the marriages of those inside and outside the church by providing them with practical tools that will cause their relationship to grow.
'Essentially marriage is a skill and you need to learn how to be married. I'm an easy-going kind of person and I figured that I could just fall into marriage. But really you just can't. You need some tools to help you.'

What is The Marriage Course?
The Marriage Course is very practical, giving any married couple the tools to build a strong and healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. Over seven evenings spent together, couples talk about important issues that can get
swept under the carpet in the rush of daily life.
Topics covered include: recognising each other's needs, learning to communicate effectively, resolving conflict, healing past hurts, knowing how to make each other feel loved, relating to parents and in-laws, good sex, making time for each other and having fun together.
Each evening begins with a candlelit meal. There is then a talk followed by an opportunity to discuss the topic together as a couple. There is no group discussion and no requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else.
What is the aim of The Marriage Conference?
The Marriage Conference is designed to equip married couples to lead The Marriage Course.
What will it cover?

- The design and content of the course
