Family Education Trust
Introduction
The Family Education Trust, established in 1973 as an independent think-tank, conducts research into the causes and effects of family breakdown. It seeks to promote responsible attitudes to marriage and family life and publishes a quarterly Family Bulletin containing news and comment based on the findings of reputable research. It also publishes videos, books, booklets and factsheets to support the family founded on marriage and over the past three decades has published material on marriage, divorce, daycare, child abuse, sex education, teenage pregnancy, the discipline of children and children's rights. A recent publication Sex Education or Indoctrination? How ideology has triumphed over facts is vital reading for all parents and policy makers.
Under its working title, Family & Youth Concern, the Trust serves as a point of contact for all sections of the media seeking informed comment on family-related issues, and submits evidence to parliamentary bodies in response to consultations and inquiries. The Trust also provides advice to concerned parents and others who are seeking to promote responsible attitudes to marriage and family life in their own communities, in schools. council departments, and the local press.
