National Marriage Week 2002
NMW represents the best opportunity each year for those in the marriage world to unite in getting our message across through the press. In preparation for NMW 2002 Futureway Trust, who run NMW, are hosting two pre-launch events this autumn.
Both are at The Commonwealth Club, Northumberland Avenue, London, on Monday, September 17th.
The first ever VIP pre launch reception will be hosted by Rev Steve Chalke alongside other distinguished figures. Church leaders, denominational executives and leading people from Christian organisations will gather early afternoon to hear from Richard Kane, Director of Marriage Week explain the unfolding vision of Marriage Week, the new resources for 2002 and how Futureway can support your Marriage Week initiative.
The second early evening VIP meeting will be hosted by Barrones Uddin, attracting a host of academics, policy makers, practitioners and leading executives from some of the most respected organisations working in the field. Distinguished Figures from other faiths will be present although sadly this rescheduled gathering coincides with the Jewish New Year and so our apologies for this oversight to our friends in the Jewish Community.
If you want to know more, then email Futureway for more info.
In last quarter's edition of Partners news we highlighted the potential for all the UK organisations to unite behind National Marriage Week and form a wider coalition. We continue to believe that this would be a valuable next step, so if you have some ideas why not share them on the discussion forum, or alternatively email Richard Kane at Futureway.
One of the exciting models for success from the US has been the steady growth of the Smartmarriages Conference. This year Harry Benson attended the conference from UK and his article and report here on 2-in-2-1 makes challenging reading. Is there a budding conference organiser out there who would work with us and others to see a similar event start up in the UK??
