Partners News No 6 - January 2001
By Dave Percival
Let's grow together
As we come to the end of our first calendar year of operation, its good to report that over 30,000 visitors have looked at over 285,000 pages over the year, giving you our partners a real opportunity to interact with them.
The steady growth shows just what a need there is for marriage support and encouragement. In the past few weeks we have changed our policy on the discussion forums to encourage greater interaction; we have removed the need for visitors to sign up first (now they can just send a message at will) and have also reduced the number of forums. The result is definitely a growing volume of traffic - and with it, an ever clearer view of the pain and hurt there is in some folk's marriages. This presents you, our partners, with a real opportunity to engage with couples out there in a very direct way - we would encourage you to visit the discussion forums from time to time, and use them as a way to share with these couples the kind of help and encouragement you offer.
We're always pleased to welcome new members - this quarter we are especially pleased to welcome Christian Guidelines, CARE (Scotland), Mothers Union and The Salvation Army Counselling Services.
We've also been delighted to be working more closely with Christian Family Network. The vision behind Christian Family Network is to provide a place where people can receive the support, advice, and encouragement they need to help their family live and grow God's way. Through their weekly e-mail newsletter, quarterly magazine, constantly updated website and themed bulletin boards, they hope to direct people to the best resources for their family's needs - and to put them in touch with others for online debate, ideas and encouragement. Christian Media Centre also publishes Christian Herald weekly newspaper, and Woman Alive monthly magazine. We have been delighted for them to publish Kate's Weekly Marriage Tip as part of their regular newsletter - a great way to keep Marriage and it's support at the heart of family life.
