Partners News No. 5 - October 2000
By Dave Percival
Welcome to the Autumn Edition
Welcome to the Autumn Edition of 2-in-2-1 Partners News. It seems amazing to think that this is edition No 5 - we're into the second year of Partners news (even if the site has only been running since February this year). Back then we were pleased to announce that over 20% of the UK's Marriage Support Organisations had signed up following our initial mailing - now it's well over 75%, and still growing. The UK Partners, all the organisations doing work at the coal-face with married couples in the UK, are the primary source of help to millions of couples in the UK - our role is to be an extra shop front fore you all. Our US Partners, twenty in all now, provide an immense range of valuable resources and materials. So our first message to all our partners one year on is a big "Thank You"!
In this edition you will find:
New Friends
It's always a pleasure to welcome new friends to 2-in-2-1. This quarter we are especially pleased to welcome A Day Out for your Marriage, True Light Communications, Family Caring Trust, Parentline Plus, the Salvation Army Counselling Service, CARE (Scotland) and a new Family Ministry from Saltmine - well Brian and Chris aren't really new, but they are re-badged!!
Do you know of others who are not yet on 2-in-2-1? Drop us a line and we'll follow them up!
Bits and Bobs
One of the most intensely used areas of the site is the Marriage First Aid Kit which comes from Cary Counseling, one of our US Partners. We were touched to receive this comment from one grateful visitor; "Your marriage first aid kit is very helpful. I only wish I had discovered it sooner, maybe then my marriage could have been in better shape than it is now. Keep the good work coming. Thanks."
It has been humbling too to see some of the heart-rending problems shared on the Bulletin Board - everything from internet affairs, a breakdown following a cult marriage to money problems and loss of sexual desire. Although traffic is still slow, it is encouraging not only to find people looking for solutions, but also others willing to offer advice and support.
