The Marriage Charter
By Dave Percival
Can you imagine the impact if 5 million people signed up to a simple statement relating to marriage. National Marriage Week 2001 is inviting people to indicate their agreement with the marriage charter in order to pursue the vision of a movement of people who believe that our society needs to preserve and support marriages. Politicians, organisations and individuals are being asked to sign up.

The Marriage Charter
- We believe that marriage is a life long commitment between one man and one woman.
- We believe that good marriages should be upheld in society as the best foundation for a secure and happy family, and that it should have a special status in society.
- We understand and agree that all couples should take time to make their marriage work well, and that a little effort in this respect goes a long way.
